Woven by Women

This Women’s Month, we honor the circle of women who sustain tradition.

In Rwanda, tall sculptural baskets called Agaseke have symbolized peace, generosity, and womanhood for centuries. Each one is woven by hand by women artisans who transformed hardship into heritage and survival into artistry.

Today, their work continues through fair trade partnerships that sustain families and preserve tradition.

Two sisters. 5,000 women. One vision.

Founded by sisters Joy Ndungutse and Janet Nkubana, Gahaya Links has grown into a network of over 5,000 women weavers across Rwanda. This Women’s Month, we collaborate to honor their vision by preserving heritage craft while creating dignified work and economic independence for the women who carry it forward.
